Jonas starts with a white canvas and finds inspiration in the ingredients he works with. The ingredients tell the story of the design. This story only ends when the materials, colors, proportions and connections all come together. To ensure that time does not become an enemy, all pieces are only available in limited editions.
The ingredients
All series are made with sustainable and natural ingredients such as metal, stone or wood. These local ingredients have all been carefully selected by Jonas and guarantee quality.
By obsessively passing the ingredients through his hands and thoughts every day, he is stimulated to create new models. His obsession for perfection lies in the details, the craft and the understanding of the ingredients. He is only satisfied when all the ingredients together form one combination that feels good to him.
The style
Although Jonas’s style cannot be neatly categorized, the works are quite modern. It gives new life to natural ingredients with a minimalist and sleek design. Even when he uses many different techniques such as sawing, sanding, welding, grinding, filing, pickling, lacquering, … the work always comes together in an abstract, sultry way.
